Celebrations will be held throughout Gannawarra this October to mark the 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival.
Gannawarra Shire Council is partnering with the Kerang Progress Association, Northern District Community Health and local neighbourhood houses to support 16 events as part of the festival, which encourages senior Victorians to age positively.
"The Gannawarra's Victorian Seniors Festival celebrations continue to grow in popularity each year, and the 2026 program features events that cater to a wide range of interests," Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
"This year's program provides residents with opportunities to connect, create and celebrate locally through a variety of free and low-cost events."
Highlights of the festival program include:
A Gannawarra Library Service author talk with renowned Australian rural romance author Leonie Kelsall at Kerang's Sir John Gorton Library on Thursday, 1 October from 10.30am.
A singalong with the Gay Charmers at Kerang's Sir John Gorton Library on Thursday, 8 October from 2pm.
Damian Callinan's Hall Stories performance at Leitchville Memorial Hall on Wednesday, 14 October from 6.30pm.
A Seniors Creekside Lunch at the Cohuna Recreation Reserve's Cohuna Pavilion on Wednesday, 21 October from 12 noon.
The Cohuna Senior Citizens' 60th birthday party at Cohuna Memorial Hall on Tuesday, 27 October from 1pm.
The Kerang Trackside Connections Lunch at Alexandra Park on Friday, 30 October.
