Return your Residential Kerbside Reform survey and win
Residents have eight days to be in the running to win one of five $50 Mastercard pre-paid vouchers by completing a 10-minute survey about how they currently are disposing or recycling their household waste.
During the past four weeks, Gannawarra Shire Council residents have had the opportunity to complete the
Residential Kerbside Reform Survey
, which Council has developed as part of its review of current waste management services and the rollout of the State Government's kerbside waste collection reforms.
"Council thanks the more than 600 people who have taken the opportunity so far to complete this important survey, which will assist with the future of waste services in the municipality," Council Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Rollinson said.
"Providing a kerbside waste collection service is one of the many responsibilities of local government, which is undertaken across the Gannawarra via our contractor, Veolia, and it is important that these services cater to the needs of residents, businessowners and visitors."
The 10-minute survey, which has been sent to all properties in the municipality, focuses on Council's current kerbside waste collection services, which include weekly collection of red lid general rubbish bins and fortnightly collection of yellow lid mixed recycling bins across the municipality, and a fortnightly opt-in green waste collection service for Cohuna, Kerang and Koondrook properties.
The survey also enables residents to outline their preferences regarding how Council may implement changes as part of the rollout of the four-stream waste and recycling system across the Victoria, which includes providing a purple-lidded glass recycling bin and a green-lidded food organics and garden organics (FOGO) bin for all properties.
"At this time Council has not committed to the introduction of a standalone kerbside glass recycling service as part of the State Government's kerbside waste collection reforms, with this survey to assist in investigating alternative options, such as drop-off sites, recovery partnerships and other non-kerbside options," Mr Rollinson said.
Residents who would like to be in the running to win one of five $50 Mastercard pre-paid vouchers will need to complete their copy of the survey and return it to Council before Thursday, 26 March.
