Did You Know - Emergency Dashboard

This week we're reminding residents to utilise our Emergency Dashboard - an online tool designed to be a single point of truth in times of emergency.

Council has a role to play before, during and after emergencies. We work closely with emergency service and recovery agencies to keep our community safe and supported during an emergency event.

Located at

www.yarriambiack.vic.gov.au/Council-Services/Emergency-Dashboard

, the dashboard collates data from multiple state agencies, allowing you to monitor fires, floods, road closures and service outages in the one location. Links include

Vic Emergency for real-time incidents and warnings across the state

Country Fire Authority (CFA) for current fire warnings and restrictions

State Emergency Service (SES) for floods and storms alerts

VicRoads for up-to-date road closures and disruptions

Utility provider trackers for power and water outages across the Shire

Emergency Council contacts

The dashboard also contains information to help you prepare for emergencies.

Yarriambiack Shire Council, together with Hindmarsh, Horsham Rural City and West Wimmera Shire Councils have signed a resource sharing partnership agreement to provide their communities with safer response and coordinated relief and recovery to all emergencies. The Wimmera Emergency Management Team has prepared a range of resources to help you plan and provide for an emergency.

Fire resources explain what you can do to plan and prepare for fires, what you can and can't do during the Fire Danger Period, and what the fire danger ratings mean. You can also find out what permits you may need, and what Council does to plan and prepare for bushfires in the Shire.

With heatwaves becoming a regular feature of the Victorian summer, it's important to plan ahead and consider how you can look after yourself and others when the extreme heat hits. We've compiled resources to help residents plan and deal with extreme heat.

The dashboard also contains flood emergency plans, Covid information, and links and resources to help recovery following an emergency.
