While some planned water interruptions will be required, the works are designed to deliver a more reliable and better-performing water supply network for Ararat.

Planned maintenance works

As part of this maintenance blitz, three planned shutdowns will occur in March to allow contractors safe access to the network and ensure the works can be completed efficiently.

Planned water supply interruption - Tuesday 3 to Wednesday 4 March

Water supply will be interrupted in Vanstan, Elizabeth, Tobin and Laidlaw Streets, Gossip Avenue and surrounding areas.

• Start: 11 pm, Tuesday 3 March

• Finish: 5 am, Wednesday 4 March

Planned maintenance interruption - Tuesday 10 March

Customers in the following areas may experience no or low water pressure during the works:

Barkly Street, Bellinghams Hill Road, Blackie Avenue, Montgomery Street, Scotts Rise, Oliver's Gully Road, Tobin Street and Warnies Lane.

• Start: 9 am, Tuesday 10 March

• Finish: 2 pm, Tuesday 10 March

To support customers during this interruption, a water trailer will be available at:

Ararat Secondary College, 4-30 Barkly Street, Ararat

Overnight water interruption - Monday 16 to Tuesday 17 March

Most properties in the Ararat urban area will experience an overnight water disruption while GWMWater completes critical maintenance and upgrade works.

• Start: 11 pm, Monday 16 March

• Finish: 5 am, Tuesday 17 March

These works have been deliberately scheduled overnight to minimise inconvenience. GWMWater staff and contractors will work through the night to complete the upgrades as quickly and safely as possible.

Quotes attributable to GWMWater Managing Director, Mark Williams:
