Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is reminding customers that GMW employees may visit their property over the next few months to carry out end-of-irrigation-season meter readings.
GMW undertakes these meter readings every year to verify customers' water use.
GMW General Manager Water Delivery Services Warren Blyth said this year's meter readings were under way and would continue during May and June.
"It's important to note that when one of our staff members visits a property to undertake a meter reading they will be in a clearly marked GMW vehicle," he said.
"Our staff will also have identification on them to verify who they are."
GMW Diversions customers are also being reminded to inform GMW about any water use that occurs after their meter or meters have been read.
Mr Blyth said June 21 was the last day they could inform GMW about this.
"Any water usage that occurs after the meter reading which has not been communicated to GMW will be counted against a customer's 2026/27 usage," he said.
"Please get in touch with your local Diversions Inspector (DI) about any water you've used since your meter or meters were read."
Regulated surface water customers wanting to use water entitlement during May or June need to either order through the
WaterLINE
website and contact their local DI so their use can be accounted for in the current irrigation season.
Unregulated surface water users or groundwater customers who use water during May or June need to inform their DI about this so their use can be accounted for in the current season.
Customers can talk to a DI by contacting GMW on 1800 013 357.
