The Nationals Member for Murray Plains, Peter Walsh, says V/Line services across his electorate have run off the rails - again.

Mr Walsh says the latest figures released by V/Line show the Echuca and Swan Hill lines are the worst performing in the state when it comes to getting passengers to their destinations on time.

And provided, he adds, it "doesn't accidentally lose your carriage on the way - as it has done in Swan Hill and, most recently, on the Seymour line".

"The most up to date figures from the carrier show not only is the system not getting any better, it is in some cases getting worse," Mr Walsh says.

"In June last year we were arriving as scheduled for 86.4 per cent of the time - while most of the state was doing better than 90 per cent," Mr Walsh explains.

"In June this year that had slumped to 84.2 per cent," he adds.

"I have also campaigned for better quality trains, for better access to disability services on trains, and getting tracks upgraded so we can always get the speeds promised by the Allan Labor government with VLocity trains.

"Instead, I have people ringing my office to say the trains are back on a go slow, especially on the Echuca line, or, more often, why aren't the trains running at all and why am I stuck on a bus - again."

Mr Walsh says figures for the Echuca and Swan Hill lines are a model of consistency - they are always the worst in the state.

He says June was the worst, May, even at 86.1 per cent, was still rock bottom and April - at an embarrassing 79 per cent - was "far and away" the most pathetic performance result.
